This was the menu for our Dinner Party last night...
...unfortunately the Punch didn't turn out as planned.
But tonight, since there is only 1 out of the 8 people that were here last night, I decided to go simple, but delicious! That's right my friends, Fresh Corn and Chicken Chowder! Yumm!! It was the perfect meal for the rainy day we had here in The Rock.
Of course, I got the recipe from this month's issue of Better Homes and Gardens! There are so many great recipes in this issue. This one will definitely be put away for a nice and cozy winter meal.
But...maybe the best part of my meal was the dessert! I had made some Homemade Ice Cream Sandwiches for our Dinner Party last night, and I just so happened to "conveniently" have some left over. I wish I could say that this is a secret family recipe, but it isn't. At all. I got the recipe from good 'ole Martha Stewart. Here is a link to the recipe. I hope your family loves them as much as we do. I truly look forward to making these for my kiddos one day.
And then to top the night off, I had to give this guy (Mack, not Del) his eye drops. I'll go ahead and use the excuse that "I had to have an ice cream sandwich to build up my strength to wrestle Mack". Yep, he is now almost as big as I am, but he definitely wins in the "strength" category!
Needless to say, I wish I had a picture of me trying to give him his eye drops. Hilarious! But, this was the text message I sent to Del when it was all said and done. I now have tremendous respect for my husband who give these to him 3x a day! Whew!
