Back from the Field

DEL IS BACK FROM THE FIELD!! Which means...I got to talk to him today for the first time in 10 days! It was amazing. He called me at work which was a very sweet surprise. We also spoke tonight...it was just great hearing his voice. I didn't think that him being gone for the summer would be as hard has it has been. But, its been tough...and its only been 2 weeks. 4 more to go! And its funny...it seems like my friends are crying over it more than I am. I was at lunch with my friend Annie yesterday and we started talking about it and she just burst into tears (which made me cry...its a girl thing I guess). Then, on June 17th I mentioned that it was Del and I's anniversary to my friend Val...and she started crying!! But I will say, not being able to talk to your husband and best friend for 10 days is really hard...and something worth shedding a few tears over. My heart goes out to the wives whose husbands are overseas, and they have to go months without speaking. Praise the Lord that He knows what we can handle and He provides the strength to get through it. What an awesome God we serve!

So, Del said he learned a lot of the field. Actually, His exact words were "it was stinkin' incredible". I guess he had a good time. :) He did catch the cold that was going around. So, please pray that he recovers quickly. He fell asleep on the phone as he was talking so, that was about the extent of details I received. He sounded pretty worn out. And, they are being picked up at 6:30 again tomorrow morning. Not much rest for our future ARMY doctors. But, we can pray that the sleep that they do get will be very restful and that it will be the perfect amount that they need to make it through the day. Hopefully I will get more info on our soldier tomorrow! Thanks for all your prayers!
