After 2 1/2 LONG months...Del is finally HOME!!!
If you weren't aware, he has been on his away rotations for the Army/Med School. He spent all of September in Tacoma, WA and then all of October in Hawaii {hence the two trips to those places}. I'm so thankful that I was able to make the trip to each of those places...even if it was just for a few days at a time....because otherwise, it would have been like seeing a stranger when he arrived on Sunday!
After Hawaii, he flew home for less than 24 hours, met me in Memphis so that we could at least see each other while I shot a wedding that day. Then the next morning he was off to DC for a week and then spent the last few days with his sister, Erin, in Charlotte, NC visiting our new little niece, Aubrey Jane {who I will be doing a post about soon}!!
So on Sunday morning, I drove as fast as I could {without the wheels on my car literally bursting into flames} from NWA to LR to pick up my man from the airport! You'd have thought he had been gone for years by the way we were looking forward to that moment....so now I know that a few months is long enough for me!!
We spent the day unpacking, going to Sam's Club and Wal-Mart {I know, fun right?} and then I left for a family shoot, while Del got the grill ready for dinner! We had our first home cooked meal in a long time {because you KNOW I did know cook for just one while he was gone! ha.}
After we got done with dinner, we were both so exhausted {I blame the time change...or the growing human inside my stomach} that we were both dead asleep by 9pm and didn't wake up until 7am this morning! Wow...I can't remember the last time I got that much sleep.
And of course, now that the Breakfast King is back in town, we had dynamite omelets for breakfast! I'm pretty sure I could hear Davis singing the Hallelujah Chorus from inside my stomach after eating that meal! Because by now, he's probably a little sick of my V8 juice and 1 egg breakfast I had been feeding him. :)
Then after breakfast, we made some phone calls {so that we could feel at least a little productive} and then went for a hike. It was the perfect day outside, and it felt great to get out and breathe some fresh air. However, I had no idea how bad a little hike could wear you out at 29 weeks pregnant! I was exhausted for the rest of the day!!
By the time we got home, I had to get ready for work and then we both had BSF tonight. Once we got home, Del took over the responsibility of taking the weekly "Belly Pics". Susan stood in for him while he was gone, so you can thank her for actually holding me accountable to take them on a weekly basis.
But, I think Del was excited to pick up where she left off! ha.
This week we continued to pray that Davis would desire the right kind of friends and be protected from the wrong ones.
"Whoever walks with the wise becomes wise, but the companion of fools will suffer harm." -Proverbs 13:20
Davis is still moving around like crazy, but I am definitely starting to feel like my stomach is a lot heavier these days. We have an appointment next Tuesday, and I can't wait to see how much he has grown since the last time we did measurements!
I hope you all had a great weekend and that your week is off to an awesome start!
