"Snow Day" #2...I'm sorry Jillian.

Dear Jillian Michaels,
If you are reading this, I would just like to apologize for what you are about to see. This post includes a lot of food (that you probably....ok, definitely wouldn't approve of) and not a lot (ok, not one ounce) of exercise. I promise that if you want to come and put us on your new show, Losing It, I would be ok with that...but this really isn't a regular occurrence. I hope that we can still be best buds (at least in my heart) and I promise to get my rear on the treadmill tomorrow.
Thanks for the constant accountability you bring to my life.
Love, Chelsea

OK, I feel better now that I've gotten that off my chest... and I can now move on to tell you what we did today!

When I opened my eyes this morning, the was the most beautiful white light shining through the windows...which I knew could only mean ONE thing...SNOW!! It snowed a just enough overnight to cover the ground and make everything really peaceful. I don't know about you, but that is the way I would love to start every morning.

Photobucket

My good friend, Ashley called almost immediately after I woke up (another bonus!), so as I was talking to her about all the things God is teaching us through BSF, I whipped up a breakfast casserole for my man.
I mean, does it get ANY better?! Great Fellowship AND Great Food?!? I don't think so.

Photobucket

I think I've mentioned this breakfast casserole before...probably because it is a staple here at the Sloneker's (and by staple, Jillian, I mean...we don't have it THAT often). It's my mother-in-law's recipe, and if there is a gathering I can make this for...I do. I'll give you the recipe at the end of this post.

Most of the time when I make the breakfast casserole, I usually like something sweet to go with it.
So this morning I chose Cinnamon Twists.
I mean...why not? (*insert Jillian screaming, "I'LL TELL YOU WHY NOT!*)
But, It's a snow day, right?

Photobucket

...And while we're at it...how about some chocolate sauce to go on top?!?
Umm...Yes Please!

Photobucket

But of course, what's a cooking experience at our house without a small cut, burn, or bruise?
(Yes, I know Jillian, this is my punishment for adding the chocolate sauce)
Except for this time...IT WASN'T ME THAT GOT HURT!! Woo-Hoo!! Unfortunately it was my faithful kitchen mitt that has saved me from so many ailments.

Photobucket

I literally pulled the mitt out of the oven and it was ON FIRE!
But, if there is one thing we've learned through all these unfortunate kitchen events...
it's now best to just laugh at them!

Photobucket

After breakfast we worked up quite the appetite by laying around and playing scrabble (aka Words with Friends) against each other, and also friends and family.
(Jillian, what you don't see in this picture is the pull-up bar in the doorway leading to the kitchen, that I used each time I walked through. Which could add up REAL fast seeing as how much I walked to the kitchen today.)

Photobucket

So, we cured that by making grilled turkey and cheese sandwiches with a side of broccoli cheddar soup! The perfect cure for the "snow day lazies" or if you have a cold! :)
(Yes, Jillian. That's ranch dressing to dip my sandwich in.)

Photobucket

After a few hours of productivity (as in reading and studying), we got hungry again. I know, shocker! It's truly amazing how just sitting around (and doing pull-ups every time you walk to the kitchen ,of course) could make you so hungry! But it does...so I made us a pizza for dinner. We've been doing this quite a bit recently...mostly because of this pizza dough.

Photobucket

I could seriously just bake this and eat it as bread. It is SO yummy!
(But, of course Jillian, I've NEVER done that. Promise.)
We started with making BBQ Chicken Pizza, but then we ran out of BBQ sauce, so tonight I made Chicken and Pineapple Pizza and a side salad. Yummm-O!

Photobucket

And that pretty much sums up our second "snow day"! I know I told you yesterday that I would maybe go outside and take some pictures...well, that still didn't happen. Obviously....we were to busy eating! ha!
Hope you had a great Saturday!

Breakfast Casserole Recipe:

Ingredients:
6-8 eggs
2 Cups Milk
1 pkg (tube) sausage (Maple is the best)
6-8 pieces of white bread
1 tsp. salt
1 tsp. ground mustard
1 Cup Cheddar Cheese (shredded)

Instructions:
Brown Sausage.
As you are browning sausage, tear up 6-8 pieces of white bread and sprinkle them in a greased 9x13 dish. Mix eggs, milk, salt, and mustard together in a bowl. Once sausage is browned, pour over bread and then pour egg mixture on top. Sprinkle with cheese when done.
Bake @ 350 for 40-45 min.
